Suffolk County Declares Wallenberg Day
On January 17th 2006, Suffolk County announced their legal proclamation recognizing January 17th as Raoul Wallenberg Day.
Signed by Steve Levy, County Executive of Suffolk, the document sanctioned and listed some of Wallenberg’s fearless and selfless deeds, while also accounting a brief history of his life and family. This presents very good news for the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation as it now adds another county to its nationally distinguished list of supporters.
The Foundation is eager to see more counties follow in these noble and supportive footsteps, guiding the country to its one denominating goal… ”to develop educational programs and public awareness campaigns based on the values of solidarity and civic courage; ethical cornerstones of the Saviors of the Holocaust.”
