”I am glad to be associated with the Raoul Wallenberg Foundation,” expressed Professor Smoot in a message to the Foundation in which he shared a photograph taken in December 2006 at the Raoul Wallenberg Monument in Stockholm, Sweden.
Professor Smoot received the 2006 Nobel Prize in Physics for his ”discovery of the blackbody form and anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation.” He shared the award with John C. Mather of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
