Xu Xin is chosen to represent the Foundation in China.
Wednesday, February 15, 2006. The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation has developed new representation in China. Xu Xin, professor of the department of Religious Studies/Department of Philosophy and Director of the Center for Jewish Studies at Najing University, has graciously accepted the offer as representative of the new development in China.
The goal of the Foundation with Xu Xin’s help is to educate people of the massive horror that the Holocaust actually created. During the Second World War, the German and Nazi soldiers under Hitler’s control in the West systematically slaughtered the Jewish community. However, in the East, the Chinese population of Nanjing was undergoing a similar horror, known today as the Nanjing Massacre. Japanese soldiers raped, pillage, and destroyed the Nanjing population, killing 300,000 people by the close of the War. The International Raoul Wallenberg is eagerly looking for people who risked their lives to save others during the Nanjing Massacre, as well as survivors who can share their emotional stories.
Xu Xin is the author of Legends of the Chinese Jews of Kaifeng (© 1995), Anti-Semitism: How and Why (© 1996), A History of Western Culture and Religion (© 2002), and The Jews of Kaifeng, China: History, Culture, and Religion (© 2003). His article ”Practice of Judaism in China” appears in Encyclopedia of Judaism (Vol. 4, Brill, 2002, p.p. 1630-1652). As a teacher, he has solely reformed the Judaic Studies program offering classes such as: Jewish religion, history, culture, and world civilization; Holocaust Studies; American/Jewish Literature; History of Jewish Diaspora; West Civilization; and Survey of Chinese culture. He now offers programs available to all Masters and Doctoral students.
Beyond his studies, he has presented many exhibitions. He organized ”The First International Conference on Jewish Studies in China,” which was co-sponsored by Tel Aviv University in October of 1996. The supporters for his work include the Rothschild Family Foundation, The Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, The Sino-Judaic Institute, and many more. Many have backed his teachings, and his contributions are appreciated among the Judaic community all over the world. His efforts to represent, direct, and mold the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation of China will be an awesome attribute to the Foundation and their goals for the future.

His brilliant mind and motivational work will be able to help spread Holocaust awareness further, into more cultures around the globe.
