“Heart of Stone – Heart of Flesh”, a dramatic play by Eli Yossef, about the life and feats of Raoul Wallenberg, made its premiere in Kiryat Gat, Israel.
Before a packed audience, at the Edith Pollack Auditorium of Kiryat Gat, the students of the Shalon High School, made their debut.
The play, written by Eli Yossef, tells the awe-inspiring story of Raoul Wallenberg, from the moment he was picked-up for his special mission till he was abducted by the Soviets.
The audience included the Mayor of Kiriat Gat, Mr. Abiram Dahary, the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Sweden, Ms. Anette Shary, the head of the Diaspora department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Shmuel Ben Shmuel and Mr. Danny Rainer, vice-president of the IRWF.
Mr. Eli Yossef lectures about Wallenberg on behalf of the IRWF, and precisely his lecture before the Shalon High-School students, paved the way to their participation in this initiative, proving the importance of instilling Raoul Wallenberg’s legacy in the hearts and minds of the youngsters.
Following a 10-minute standing ovation, the audience stood up to sing the Hatikva (the Israeli National Anthem).
The cast will be touring the whole country, including universities, high school and public theaters.
