Venezuelan Branch of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation
Created in the year 2001, the Venezuelan branch of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation is based in the city of Caracas. It works in co-ordination with the IRWF with the aim of extending educational activities promoting the humanitarian values embodied by Raoul Wallenberg and many others who saved lives during the Holocaust.
President: José Weiss
José Weiss was born in Budapest, Hungary from where he was rescued by Raoul Wallenberg. He is a former President of the Venezuelan Rabbinate, a Past President of the Metropolitan Rotary Club and Past President of the Altamira Rotary Club. He has been awarded the Francisco de Miranda Order.
Vice president: Nusia Weiss
Nusia Weiss was born in Krakow, Poland but lived with her parents in Russia during the war. She was president of the Metropolitan Rotary Club Support Committee and later of the Altamira Rotary Club collaborating with different social projects.
