October 5, 2010 – Raoul Wallenberg Day
Following an initiative of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation (IRWF), Governors of Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia. have declared October 5, 2010 as Raoul Wallenberg Day.
“Raoul Wallenberg has become a symbol of each human being’s concern for every fellow human being” says Nebraska Governor, Dave Heineman in the official proclamation. “[Wallenberg is] an example to be followed, and an inspiration to uncover and fight for justice and understanding.” “My thanks go to the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation for honoring the memory of this great individual by developing education programs and public awareness campaigns across international borders.” reads the special letter in support of “Wallenberg Days” sent by the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Wallenberg Foundation to document righteous Armenians
On the 19th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia, the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation announced the launching of a new chapter which shall be dedicated to the study of Armenian history.
New project of the IRWF will also focus on the preservation of the legacies of the Armenian heroes who were involved in the rescue of victims of the Holocaust, a theme which has not been properly documented so far.
The IRWF will pursue its goal, to educate and foster remembrance of the Armenian Genocide and will persevere to achieve its worldwide recognition.

World Premiere of Wallenberg Musical!
With book and lyrics by the 2006 Kleban Award-winning team of Laurence Holzman & Felicia Needleman, music by Benjamin Rosenbluth, and under the direction of Emmy Award winner Annette Jolles, Wallenberg is a groundbreaking endeavor with which we share the same goal and vision – to bring the story of Raoul Wallenberg to every household in the U.S.!
Already receiving increasing critical and public acclaim since its first stage reading presentation in 2005, Wallenberg will have its world premiere production at the White Plains Performing Arts Center from Oct. 28 – Nov. 21, 2010.

Beate Klarsfeld with Wallenberg Foundation
Volunteers from the Raoul Wallenberg Foundation Buenos Aires office met with Mrs. Beate Klarsfeld, who along with her husband, Serge Klarsfeld, will receive the Raoul Wallenberg Award 2010. The couple is globally recognized as one of the most active in terms of documentation on the Holocaust and persecution of Nazi war criminals.
Beate Auguste Künzel Klarsfeld is famous in ”hunting” Nazis war criminals. With her husband, Serge Klarsfeld, she has also denounced major Nazi political activism and European officials.

The IRWF Educational Program at the Maimonides University, Buenos Aires, Argentina
On September 27, 2010, the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation presented its educational program “Wallenberg at School” at the Maimonides University in Buenos Aires. The program was organized with the collaboration of Professor Regina Steiner, Dean of the Humanities and counted with the participation of Holocaust Survivors Irene Dab, Moises Borowicz, and David Galante.
