The 61st. anniversary of the disappearance of the ”Hero without a Grave”, was remembered in Buenos Aires, with the attendance of approximately one hundred people, summoned by the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation.

Tribute to Raoul Wallenberg in New York

Agnes Adachi, who aided WW II hero Raoul Wallenberg, spoke to students at the Raoul Wallenberg School, in Brooklyn, New York on January 24th. Adachi, 87, joined members of the IRWF in a unique commemoration of the ”Hero without a Grave”, who was captured by the Soviets on January 17th 1945.

Remembrance Day of the Holocaust for the Greek Jewry

Under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in New York, The American Sephardi Federation with the Sephardi House, The American Friends of the Jewish Museum of Greece, The Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce and The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, marked the commemoration of Remembrance Day of the Holocaust for the Greek Jewry, as designated by the Greek Parliament, the European Union and the United Nations, in a ceremony attended by 400 guests.

Exhibition ”Ein Visum furs Leben”

In Berlin the Wallenberg Foundation distinguished three outstanding leaders

On 26 January 2006 took place the opening of the exhibition ”Ein Visum furs Leben” (Visas for Life), of the Israel Foreign Ministry at the Vaterunser Kirche in Berlin. The hosts were Pastor Annemarie Werner, leader of the congregation, and Baruch Tenembaum, founder of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation.

Haaretz. Honor due to Raoul Wallenberg

January 16 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Every year, all Americans dedicate the day to the memory of this great fighter for equality and human rights. The great irony is that just one day later we commemorate a great American tragedy. The heroism of another (honorary) American citizen, who fought for human rights, just like Martin Luther King, Jr., who paid the ultimate price, just like Martin Luther King, Jr., but who, years after that terrible fate, still has not received his due.

JTA. Raoul Wallenberg remembered

A ceremony was held in Argentina for the 61st anniversary of Raoul Wallenberg’s disappearance.

Tuesday’s ceremony, organized by the Raoul Wallenberg Foundation in the plaza that bears Wallenberg’s name in Buenos Aires, honored the Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Hungarian Jews during World War II.

Volunteers Distinguished

The ”Wallenberg at School” educational program marked its fourth year since it was instated.

To close the year’s intense cycle of activities, the team of volunteers working for the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation met on December 28th at the premises of the institution to make a toast.

Keepers of the Flame

Zofia Kossak-Szczucka (1890-1968) was a Polish author and a resistance fighter best known for her wartime efforts to help the Jews. She was a granddaughter of the Polish painter Juliusz. She married twice and kept the name Szczucka from her first marriage. Kossak-Szczucka was associated with the Czartak literary and wrote mainly for the Catholic press. Her best-known work from that period was ”Conflagration,” a memoir of the Russian Revolution.
