SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE UN MEETS WITH THE IRWF’S TOP AUTHORITIES
On August 9, the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon met with Baruch Tenembaum and Eduardo Eurnekian, Founder and Chairman of the IRWF. On this occasion the top authorities of the IRWF also met with Jan Eliasson, the UN Deputy Secretary General. During the visit, coinciding with the 100th birthday of Raoul Wallenberg, both hosts congratulated the IRWF, for its relentless work to preserve and promote the legacies of the Swedish hero and his likes.

AUGUST 4, 2012 – RAOUL WALLENBERG BIRTHDAY
– The IRWF Berlin; Inauguration of Raoul Wallenberg bust
The IRWF inaugurated a new memorial to Raoul Wallenberg in Vater-Unser-Gemeinde in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. The Wallenberg’s bust is a work of psychiatrist and artist Prof. Peter Bulow, whose mother and uncle were rescued by Wallenberg. The head of the district’s council Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf Judith Stückler, participated in the event organize by the IRWF Berlin on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 6.30PM.

Celebrations across Sweden honored Wallenberg on his birthday. In the birth place of Wallenberg Lidingö, a celebration was held at the main square. The celebration in Sigtuna, Stockholm County, was conducted in the presence of HRH the Crown Princess Victoria and the family of Raoul Wallenberg. In Stockholm “City Walk in Raoul Wallenberg’s Footsteps” was organized by the Stockholm City Museum.

THE FATE OF RAOUL WALLENBERG: THE IRWF ANNOUNCES 500,000 DOLLARS REWORD
Baruch Tenembaum and Eduardo Eurnekian, Founder and Chairman of the IRWF, announced the decision to increase to U$S 500,000 the sum of the reward being offered by the IRWF to any person or entity who could provide solid and provable information on the whereabouts of Wallenberg and his chauffer, Vilmos Langfelder. The decision was announces during the recent meeting with the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon.

ARTICLE – WALLENBERG, ONE HUNDRED YEARS LATER
An article by Baruch Tenembaum and Eduardo Eurnekian was published in the Spanish newspaper El Pais. Marking the 100th anniversary of Wallenberg’s birth the article brings the timeline of the most significant episodes in the attempts to resolve the mystery of what happened to Wallenberg after he was captured by the Soviets on January 17, 1945.

EXHIBITION ‘TO ME THERE’S NO OTHER CHOICE – RAOUL WALLENBERG 1912-2012’ OPENS IN GOTHENBURG
The exhibition on the life-saving efforts of the Swedish diplomat opened at the House of the Emigrants in Gothenburg on Friday August 24, 2012, and will run throughout September.
The exhibition is a platform for dialogue and discussion regarding issues of tolerance, democracy and civil courage, and will tour Karlstad, Malmö and several other locations this year. The international version of the exhibition has so far toured Budapest, New York, Washington, Moscow and Geneva, and will continue on to Tel Aviv, Berlin and Canada in the near future.
