Wallenberg Foundation

The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the example of Raoul Wallenberg alive all over the world, with the aim of promoting peace among nations, and remembering those who risked their lives to save persecuted people during W.W. II.

It is named after the Swedish diplomat credited with saving the lives of tens of thousands of Jews and others in Hungary who were condemned to certain death by the Nazis. He was captured by the Soviet troops which took control of Budapest in 1945, and was never seen again.

It has branches in New York, Jerusalem, Buenos Aires, and Caracas, and has honored many other “saviors of the Holocaust,” as the foundation refers to them.
