Wallenberg was remembered on a new anniversary of his disappearance
On 17 January 2004 the 59th anniversary of the disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg, arrested by the Soviet army in 1945, took place.
Repercussions of Wallenberg´s anniversary in the press all over the world
Many articles were published to commemorate the 59th anniversary of Wallenberg’s disappearance. Among them an editorial of the Argentine newspaper LA NACION and a letter by Baruch Tenembaum to the prestigious publication of London THE JEWISH CHRONICLE.

Raoul Wallenberg at school
We have been implementing the educational program ”Wallenberg at School” in South America for the past three years. The initiative has the aim of preserving individual freedoms by taking as role models the actions of solidarity of thousands of saviors during the Second World War. After the success obtained in South America, we are now starting to implement the program in the United States and other countries. We invite scholars, holocaust survivors and people saved by Raoul Wallenberg to join us in this mission.

During the Second World War Hitler was not the only leader of a totalitarian regime in Europe. Benito Mussolini ruled Italy, António de Oliveira Salazar ruled Portugal and Francisco Franco ruled Spain.
All these governments had the systematic violation of individual freedoms as well as racial, religious and political persecutions as common denominator.
Campaign to pay homage to Peruvian saviors
The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation (IRWF) has launched an international campaign to search for the names of the Peruvian saviors in order to pay homage to them.
More than 50 Heads of State, Nobel Prize laureates, Governors and distinguished personalities accompany the IRWF in educating the new generations about the exemplifying behavior of the saviors during the Holocaust.
”The Peruvian heroes deserve the same international acknowledgement than the Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, Nuncio Angelo Roncalli and the Portuguese Aristides de Sousa Mendes, among many other distinguished per! sonalities of world history”, mentioned Mr. Baruch Tenembaum, founder of the IRWF.
The Wallenberg Foundation invites the Peruvian people to send all relevant information about those people who risked their lives to save the persecuted during the Nazi regime, probably diplomats stationed in Europe during the Second World War. Meeting in Jerusalem with Minister saved by Wallenberg
Louise von Dardel, Raoul Wallenberg’s niece , met in Jerusalem with Yosef (Tomy) Lapid, Minister of Justice of Israel and Holocaust survivor saved by Raoul Wallenberg in 1944. The meeting took place at the Minister’s office thanks to the intervention of the IRWF.
